STONE BRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL, VA – On 12 November 2014, a signing ceremony was held for Andi Mack who formally committed to swim for the UNC “Tar Heels” commencing in the 2015 season. Currently a senior at Stone Bridge High School (Ashburn, VA), this event marked the culmination of ten years of competitive swimming in the local area. Andi swims for Nations Capital Swim Club under her coach, Robbie Robins and does her conditioning under Coco Buck. She specializes in butterfly and freestyle and is a National qualifier. Also, she is a very well rounded in her academics. She is graduating at the top 5% of her class and has been invited to attend the Loudoun County Academic Excellence banquet. Having visited quite a few universities over the past few months, Andi felt that UNC was the right fit her in terms of both academics and athletics. While Andi has had a few accomplishments along the way, she would like to give all the credit to her coaches and mentors for helping her achieve her dream to swim for a Division 1 school.
“ I decided to swim for UNC because the school’s swim program is outstanding and I really got a long with the coaches and swimmers. I believe that the coaches there will help me reach my potential at the college level. More importantly, though, the academics are exceptional and a UNC degree will help me a lot in the future.”
